Can't find what you're after below? (02) 9023 2062 puts you through to someone who actually knows the trade, not a script.
Everything here covers what Dee Why homeowners actually ask about pricing, licensing, booking and what's happening under the streets.
Common questions
Money, Quotes and the $50 Off
Do you charge a call-out fee?
No. $0 call-out fee on every job, whether it's a quick clear or something bigger. You get a free quote first, and nothing happens until you say go ahead.
Do prices change once you start?
No. The price we quote is the price you pay, no exceptions. If the job turns out different once we're underway, we stop and talk it through before doing another thing.
Is the quote really free?
Yes, every time. We assess the drain, work out what's actually needed, and hand you a fixed price before you're committed to anything. No pressure to say yes on the spot.
What does "$50 off when you book online" cover?
It's a straight $50 discount off your job total for booking through the site instead of ringing. Everything else about the visit, the fixed quote and the guarantees, stays the same.
Common questions
Licensing and Responsibility
Can I clear a blocked drain myself?
A plunger on a simple sink block is usually fine to try first. Chemical cleaners and hired electric eels are more of a gamble, older pipes can crack or the clog can shift further down the line. Once it's genuinely a drainage job, NSW law requires a licensed plumber.
What warranty do I get?
Every drain we clear carries a lifetime labour warranty. If it's not right, we come back, no questions and no cost to you.
What is an overflow relief gully and why does it matter?
It's the grated pit set into the ground near most Sydney homes, designed to let sewage spill outside rather than back up into the house if the main line blocks. Water pooling there is an early warning worth calling about.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. NSW Plumbing Licence #275278C, Master Plumber accreditation and $20 million public liability cover apply to every job. Happy to show the paperwork on arrival if you'd like.
Common questions
When We Can Come
What happens after I call?
A licensed plumber picks up, not a recording, and asks what's going on before anything else. Someone is dispatched to be on-site in 30 minutes guaranteed, and the price gets locked in on arrival before a single tool comes out.
Do you work weekends and public holidays?
Every day, all year, and someone genuinely picks up the phone. Blockages don't check what day it is, so the roster covers weekends and public holidays the same as any Tuesday.
How fast can you get here?
On-site in 30 minutes guaranteed once you call. Same-day service applies across the board, so even a non-urgent block gets sorted quickly rather than sitting on a waiting list.
How do I book online?
Fill in the form on the contact page with what's happening and where. A plumber calls you back to confirm timing, and the $50 online-booking discount applies automatically.
Common questions
The Dee Why Questions
Do you know Dee Why's pipe stock?
Yes. The original postwar cottages here run vitrified clay drains that crack with age, and the apartment towers built more recently around the town centre run PVC instead. Working out which one we're dealing with before we start saves a return visit.
Why do Dee Why's older drains keep blocking?
Big established street trees near Fisher Road are the usual culprit, roots exploit the smallest crack in the old clay sewer pipework underneath. Add sand blown in from near the beach silting up surface drains, and it's a fairly predictable combination.
Do you work on strata and apartment blocks?
Regularly. With so much of Dee Why's housing stock now units and apartment towers, we're used to shared drainage lines. Body corporate approvals and getting access sorted with a building manager are just part of the job.
What suburbs do you service?
Dee Why, plus Brookvale, Cromer, Collaroy, Narraweena, Curl Curl and Beacon Hill. Not on that list? Ring anyway, our actual run extends further than any one page can cover.
